Seven Balls and Technical Seven Balls

A seven ball is awarded under the following condition:

  • The opponent did not purposefully pot one of their own balls during the course of the game.

Balls of both colours may be potted off the break, and combination shots where balls of both colours are potted do not count to disallow the seven ball. A technical seven ball is still awarded so long as the point above applies. For example, The opponent may only have 2 remaining balls on the table because the player awarded the seven ball pots 2 on the break and potted 3 combination shots, as well as all 7 of his/her own colour and the black. In doubles, both players are awarded a seven ball if the opposing team did not actively pot any ball of their own colour.

Captains Meetings and Voting

We aim to have less meetings during the course of the season. Any team representative may attend and does not need to be a captain or a vice captain. You may invite your entire team along. Each team though will only get 1 vote on any particular issue that you must agree to make a decision between yourselves.

An agenda will be handed out to each team member on arrival to the meeting. Meetings are strictly 1 person talking at a time. The raising of your arm will notify the chair that you have something to say.

League Participation

The Morecambe 8 Ball Pool committee encourages all players and members of the community to participate in the decisions of the league by inputting your points either at team meetings, by this website on the contact form or via telephone to the league vice chairman, Les Morgan on 07917 377 720.

Fixtures

The fixture on the site show the home team as the first team mentioned and the away team to follow. So with YorkA v YorkB, York A is the home team.

Competition Pool Tables

The singles, doubles and finals of any major competitions are to played on the 7 foot tables only. Tables must be eligible by passing inspection. (below)

Pool Table Inspections

Any table brought to the attention of the league will be inspected by the League Secretary. Inspection will arise due to complaints of tables being level, having adequate lighting, cloth and cushion condition and playing space for cue travel.
